Letters - 1985 - January 21 - AFP to Harrison
Dad does not mention the family issue which first made it expedient for them to relocate and then the change of circumstances which made this unnecessary. Dad was able to consign the problem to my oversight. Therefore, he had time to reflect further on what had taken place as he was saving money to begin his doctoral program in Civil Engineering at Stanford in 1928 - 1932.
After receiving his degree he immediately married Mary Alice Reasoner, a student at Berkeley who was majoring in theoretical math. They were married from Grandfather's home in Oakland, and were married in the same room where Aunt Grace had been married in October of 1923.
Dad's first job after graduation was designing projects for the Civilian Conservation Corp. He and mother had an extended honeymoon camping all over Northern California as Dad studied the needs of each location and then did the design work.
