Putting together Grandfather's life has not been easy. Much research has been involved carried out over many years. Insights come unexpectedly. In this brochure his picture looks so sad, so different than the way he looked when much of his time was spent in nature. Grandfather never complained so his children did not know how he felt. This reticence was born from family culture, as I well know. But sometimes I just wish I could hug him and tell him how very much I have come to love, respect and admire him over the last 20 years I have been researching his life and work.
